Yule Adore a little Spice This Christmas – Day Eight

Friday, December 8th, 2017

When my head hit the pillow last night, I ignored the snow warnings.  As I left the house at 6.30am yesterday morning, there was no frost or ice to clear from my windscreen and dare I say it?  It was actually quite warm.  So when I woke this morning, I was surprised to see it had actually snowed and that there was chaos out there.

My plan for the day was a meeting and a Christmas stall, the first went well and the second was cancelled.

So, snowed in, getting all snug and enjoying a bit of “me” time is where I am at, so a few tips if you have decided to lock yourselves in and stay warm, just like us.

Curry is great, it’s good fresh, its good the next day, it’s good from the freezer, all it needs to be is made with love so it might be a great time to experiment with curry making.  The spices are perfect to warm you up, tins of chickpeas or kidney beans might be quite useful in these cold days.

Bread: if you run out of bread, flour and water mixed and kneaded into a soft dough make perfect flatbread, try stuffing them with potatoes, cheese, vegetables, keema (mince) and don’t forget you can spice them.  Here’s my chapati recipe:  /recipe/chapaties/

Hope you have a warm, safe and snug weekend.
