Catering for a Bollywood Actress was ok!

Sunday, February 24th, 2019

I was booked to do some catering for a retreat where a Bollywood actress is treating herself to a well-deserved rest…

It was different, it’s very rare that I do catering bookings and when I do, they need to be really special.  It was nerve-racking and she was absolutely so kind, a perfect, beautiful young lady.

The location was secret, a reading retreat in the most beautiful rural setting, not too far from home.  Here’s the link if you’d like to have a sneak or book onto future book retreats: https://www.thebookmatchmaker.co.uk/pages/events

The house was beautiful, a lovely long drive down to the most amazing house.  Krish helped me, he’s so good to me!

The plan was to serve some Indian chai with hot pakoras and lots of yummy home-made dips to dunk them into.

I also made a fruit cake and a gluten-free orange drizzle cake.

Whilst the guests dressed up for dinner, the table was laid and set with little bags of spices for the guests to take home with them.

Dishes for the mains were the classic butter chicken, mixed veg, spicy potatoes and a Black Daal, served in teacups with spring onions, fresh tomatoes and red onions, sides were rice and spicy buttered naans with my special salad.

The sweet was all homemade, a carrot fudge, gajrela or halva, spicy masala nuts and cardamom ice-cream.

It was a special event and honour to be asked to cook for the fabulous guests, the team at The Book Matchmaker and to Krish my long-suffering husband who was allowed a drink on Saturday night.
